The New York Islanders beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1, ending the Islanders' three-game skid and snapping Tampa Bay's seven-game winning streak. Ilya Sorokin made 28 saves for the win while Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 21 shots for Tampa Bay. Bo Horvat opened the scoring early in the second period for his team-leading 16th goal. Anthony Duclair added an insurance goal in the third, finished off a setup from rookie Callum Ritchie. Tampa Bay scored late through Dominic James, but the Islanders blocked 19 shots and preserved the victory. The Islanders finish their homestand against the Avalanche.
