2024-2025 Jimmy Vesey report card - Blue Seat Blogs
Briefly

Jimmy Vesey had a notable presence during his tenure with the Rangers, transforming a PTO into a significant two and a half seasons. He played various roles on the team, including top-six and bottom-six positions, ultimately settling on the fourth line prior to the 2024-2025 season. However, his performance dipped, finishing last year with only four goals and six points in 33 games. This decline was partly due to being outperformed by younger players and limited ice time in later seasons, which ultimately affected his NHL career continuity.
Vesey was a solid surprise for the Rangers, turning a PTO into a solid two and a half season return on Broadway. He played in the top-six, bottom-six, ultimately finding a role on the fourth line prior to the 2024-2025 season.
Vesey finished last season with four goals and six points in 33 games before being dealt with Ryan Lindgren to Colorado. He had been outplayed by Adam Edstrom, who effectively took his spot last season.
With less ice time comes fewer points. Vesey's decline in the last season cannot be fully attributed to his play alone, as the Rangers struggled overall.
For our 2024-2025 Jimmy Vesey report card, he played half the minutes he did last season, and though there was a dip, there wasn't much time to allow him to rebound.
