Mets 'punch back' again, stun Phils in walk-off win

The Mets fell behind the Phillies, saw a setup reliever blow a lead, then overcame closer Jhoan Duran when Brandon Nimmo delivered a walk-off single for a 6-5 victory. New York has won nine straight home games versus Philadelphia, including the postseason, and trimmed Philadelphia's division lead to five games with five head-to-head regular-season meetings remaining. The Mets lead the majors with 98 runs scored since Aug. 12 after a prolonged offensive slump. The game-winning rally included four straight singles off Duran, who threw a 102 mph fastball and was removed after 12 pitches.
"We just continue to punch back," Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said.
"The bats have been really coming alive over the last seven to 10 days," Nimmo said. "We're doing great on the road and come home and continue it. I think it's just a testament to the guys paying attention to the little things."
