Austin’s route from Bedford-Stuyvesant to Maimonides Park passes the Parade Ground near the former Ebbets Field site. His parents still live near that area, and he sees the fields where he grew up playing. He also returns by passing the undulating thrill-ride tracks at Luna Park in Coney Island beyond the outfield wall of the stadium. The stadium is the home of the Mets’ High-A affiliate, the Brooklyn Cyclones.
