Mets' Jonah Tong's next test may go long way toward club's success
Briefly

Jonah Tong represented Double-A Binghamton at the All-Star Futures Game and was a seventh-round pick by the Mets in 2022. Tong scored 1,250 on the SAT and then dominated at Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse, finishing with 11 2/3 scoreless innings and 17 strikeouts in his final two starts. He posted a 1.43 ERA and a 14.2 K/9 rate over 22 starts. Mets president David Stearns credited Tong's rapid rise to development and opportunity. The promotion also responds to the Mets' rotation issues, including Frankie Montas' struggles and likely Tommy John surgery. Tong will debut against the Marlins at Citi Field.
I was more focused on passing the SAT, which I got a 1,250,
Very proud of that score
Combination of where a player is, development-wise, and then opportunity,
And this went fast for Jonah. But to his credit, he really conquered everything we put in front of him, and he put himself in a position where he deserved to be considered for a day like this.
