At Citi Field, dozens of orphaned children honor their parents who died in the line of duty by throwing the first pitch before a Mets game. This event marks the 40th anniversary of Answer The Call, a charity for families of fallen first responders. Catherine Abear, whose husband, NYPD officer Raymond Abear, died due to COVID, expressed gratitude for the ongoing recognition of her family. Over 1,200 families are expected at this bittersweet yet supportive event, highlighting the shared experiences of those who have lost loved ones in service.
