The first weekend of early voting concluded as mayoral candidates intensified campaign efforts. Zohran Mamdani held a rally at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens with a packed crowd. Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and independent Sen. Bernie Sanders joined Gov. Kathy Hochul on stage to endorse Mamdani as the Democratic nominee for New York City mayor. Gov. Hochul received some boos and chants of "Tax the rich!" while raising her hand alongside Mamdani. Ocasio-Cortez criticized President Donald Trump as authoritarian, and Sanders said a Mamdani victory would inspire people across the country and the world.
