St. John's Rick Pitino wears white suit during game vs. Villanova

"I went out to a special tailor for the first time in my life and had a white suit made up. I said, 'you know, this could be one of my last white suits if I finished coaching this year - which is not true - but I said, 'there's no freaking way I'm wearing a white suit after that loss.' So I just wasted a lot of money."

"He was also reminded that he is 2-0 wearing white at the annual White Out game. But he also had coffee with a group of friends Friday morning and they told him they'd all bought white suits for the occasion."

Rick Pitino initially considered not wearing his custom-made white suit to St. John's annual White Out game against Villanova, concerned it might appear insufficiently serious following the team's loss to Connecticut. However, after being reminded of his perfect record wearing white at these games and learning that friends had purchased white suits for the occasion, Pitino decided to wear it. He brought the sellout crowd at Madison Square Garden to its feet by appearing in the signature white suit and posed at midcourt with his friends, all wearing white suits.
