NBA Draft: Cooper Flagg goes No. 1 overall to Dallas Mavericks
Briefly

In a surprising turn during the NBA Draft Lottery, the Dallas Mavericks, despite only a 1.8% chance, secured the No. 1 pick, marking the biggest long-shot victory in Draft history. They selected Duke standout Cooper Flagg, who expressed disbelief and excitement about transitioning from college to the NBA. Flagg had an impressive freshman season, averaging 19.2 points and being named the consensus national Player of the Year. He joins a Mavericks team with potential despite uncertainties surrounding star Kyrie Irving's health.
When the NBA holds its Draft Lottery, there has to be one winner. This year it was the Dallas Mavericks, who shocked everyone with a 1.8% chance of getting the No. 1 pick.
I don't think it's set in yet. It feels surreal... Obviously I'm antsy, I'm anxious... But at the same time it's a dream come true.
Flagg, who averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists as a freshman, is going to a potentially fantastic situation with the Mavericks.
I think my mindset has always been to be a winner anywhere I go... looking forward to being successful and winning a lot of games.
