Knicks produced a rare playoff comeback in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Since 1997, teams had been 1-594 when trailing by 22 points or more in the fourth quarter of a playoff game, according to the NBA. The Knicks improved that record to 2-594. The comeback was the largest in Knicks franchise history and the largest conference finals comeback since 1997, when NBA play-by-play statistics began. The NBA also reported that both Game 1s of the conference finals went to overtime for the first time in history. The Spurs beat the Thunder in double overtime in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
