St. John's captured its second consecutive Big East Tournament championship by defeating sixth-ranked UConn 72-52 at Madison Square Garden. Zuby Ejiofor anchored the defensive effort with seven blocks, nine rebounds, and three steals while scoring 18 points alongside teammate Bryce Hopkins. The top-seeded Red Storm improved to 28-6 and became the first team since Villanova (2017-19) to win back-to-back tournament titles. St. John's also joined UConn (1998-99) as the only Big East programs to win both regular-season and tournament crowns in consecutive seasons. Ejiofor earned tournament Most Outstanding Player honors, adding to his Big East Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards.
