Carmelo Anthony Shares The 1 Message He Had for Son Kiyan During College Recruitment Process

"I think my experience and my knowledge of how this works, recruiting and going on visits, because I've been there, I've done it. I was the No. 1 one guy in the country who had to deal with these type of things. My message to him was, I want you to enjoy this recruiting process. Just enjoy it. Take the visits, go on the visits you want to go on."

Kiyan Anthony completed his freshman season at Syracuse University, following his father Carmelo Anthony's legendary path at the school. Carmelo won the national championship as a freshman in 2003 before his NBA career. When Kiyan began his recruiting process, Carmelo shared his experience as a top prospect but deliberately avoided pushing him toward Syracuse. Instead, he encouraged Kiyan to enjoy the recruiting visits and make his own decision, emphasizing that he would represent his choice for life. After visiting multiple schools, including USC, Kiyan ultimately chose Syracuse, recognizing the program's significance and his father's legacy there.
