$118,000 in jewelry taken by armed trio during home invasion robbery in East New York
Police are searching for three armed suspects who entered an East New York home and stole roughly $118,000 in jewelry during a Friday evening home invasion. A 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman answered a knock near Vandalia and Fountain avenues before the assailants, two men and a woman, forced entry and carried the victims to a bedroom. The suspects also took wallets, a purse and credit cards, raising the estimated total loss to about $122,000. The suspects fled southbound on Fountain Avenue toward Seaview Avenue and authorities provided clothing descriptions and a tip line.
"A 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman answered a knock at their door just before 9:30 p.m. Friday near Vandalia and Fountain avenues in response to a woman claiming to represent a cleaning agency. Instead, the pair was met by two men and a woman, all armed, who forced their way inside their home and to the bedroom, authorities say."
"The trio took $118,000 worth of jewelry, along with wallets, a purse and credit cards, bringing the total value to around $122,000. Police say they ran from the home, traveling southbound on Fountain Avenue toward Seaview Avenue. The woman was last seen wearing a black jacket, a white T-shirt, black pants, a black hat and black sneakers. One man was observed in a dark-colored jacket and hat, while the other wore a multicolored blue sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and black sneakers, according to authorities."
