This Budget Airline Is Canceling All U.S. Flights-What Travelers Should Know
Briefly

Play Airlines, an Iceland-based low-cost carrier, is set to terminate all flights to and from the United States and North America by October 2025. Launched in 2021, the airline connected several U.S. cities to Iceland, which served as a hub for various European destinations. However, ticket sales for flights from New York have already halted after a specified date, with the airline transitioning to a Maltese-based operator certificate and restructuring its operations, suggesting a significant shift in its business model amid reduced airline routes.
"All flights to North America cease as of October 2025," the airline confirmed in a statement on its website.
Despite October being the announced date for the end of operations, the airline is no longer selling any tickets for travel from New York to Iceland after Sept. 1, 2025.
