The Staten Island Women's Golf Association hosted its 'Captain and Her Crew' tournament at South Shore Golf Course. The event drew a strong field of competitors, split into Gross and Net divisions. Louise Lawson and her team won the Gross Division with a tight 67 score, narrowly beating another team by one stroke. In the Net Division, Amy Powell's team excelled with a remarkable score of 52, while the second-place team scored 54. SIWGA expressed gratitude to the course staff and announced its next event for July 13.
In the Gross Division, the team of Louise Lawson, Patty Ruch, Brenda Meyers, and Connie Burns captured first with an impressive round of 67, edging out the competition by a single stroke.
The Net Division saw even more fireworks on the leaderboard. Taking first with a stellar score of 52 was the team of Amy Powell, Joanne Gerenser, Pier Fetz and Maria Caldarella, who played lights-out golf from start to finish.
