Dozens of immigrants and advocates gathered outside Governor Kathy Hochul's Midtown office on International Migrants Day to demand passage of the New York for All Act, which would bar local law enforcement and government agencies from collaborating with ICE. The rally, organized by Make the Road New York, came amid a Trump administration immigration crackdown that has resulted in hundreds detained at Federal Plaza and elsewhere, including many with court appearance orders and no criminal records. Participants held signs and shared personal testimony about fear of detention and deportation, urging Governor Hochul to use her leadership to pass the legislation.
