Getting to know NY Islanders Training Camp Invitee: Gleb Veremyev
"I think I'm a true power forward,"
"I can be on a top line, opening up space for my teammates, putting the puck in the net. I love to get in on the forecheck. I've really been working on my defensive game a lot this past year and I think it's improved a lot. I'm working on my first three strides. My game overall, I'd say I'm really hard to play against. I've got good hands and a good shot. I'm not afraid to play against anyone and prove myself against anyone on the ice."
"heavier and faster,"
Gleb Veremyev signed a two-year entry-level contract with the New York Islanders in March 2025 and joined their AHL affiliate in Bridgeport. He is 6'4", 205 pounds and projects as a two-way, power-forward type with size, work ethic, and defensive awareness. Born to Russian immigrant parents, he credits their sacrifices for his development. Veremyev played three seasons at Colorado College, posting 26 goals and 26 assists in 88 games and earning distinguished scholar-athlete honors while serving in leadership roles. He described improvements to his defensive game, first three strides, hands, shot, and welcomed the heavier, faster pace of pro hockey.
