A free, all-day public World Cup Watch Experience is planned at Stony Brook University in Suffolk County. The event centers on the USA vs. Paraguay Group D match, which starts at 9 p.m. on June 12, with free admission and tickets available while supplies last. Thousands of fans are expected to watch the live broadcast on the LaValle Stadium video screen. The day also includes Canada vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina at 3 p.m. Rock band Third Eye Blind will perform at 8 p.m. Interactive soccer programming, skills activities, face painting, photo opportunities, sign-making stations, games, and giveaways are scheduled, along with recognition for local schools and soccer coaches. Joe Scally, a Lake Grove native, is expected to play for the United States.
