Recent polling shows Mamdani with a double-digit lead over independent Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa. Santos urged Republican Curtis Sliwa to step aside and join with Andrew Cuomo in a coalition to prevent a Mamdani administration. Santos called Cuomo a horrible human being while explaining that his appeal to Cuomo reflects the poll numbers.
