He calls Mamdani's ascent the result of Democrats' self-destruction and challenges Cuomo to win his own votes rather than accuse Sliwa of guaranteeing a Mamdani victory. Cuomo is running on the independent "Fight and Deliver" line after losing the Democratic primary and polls behind Mamdani but ahead of Sliwa. Sliwa points to voter opposition to both Cuomo and Mamdani, citing Cuomo's nursing-home COVID policy and sexual harassment allegations.
