""The opportunity to explore a future home next door feels like a meaningful step toward building a stronger, more thoughtful version of Laurel,""
""With heavy hearts, we've made the decision to close our NYC locations,""
""As much as we love this city and wanted to make it work, the current business and economic climate here has made it impossible for us to continue operating.""
Multiple New York City restaurants, bars, and cafes closed in early February 2026 across Brooklyn and Manhattan neighborhoods. Bạn Bè in Carroll Gardens closed its Brooklyn storefront on January 31 after a five-year run and will continue operating online with branded Garfield T-shirts. Laurel Bakery in Brooklyn Heights closed its corner location in early February and hopes to reopen near its Prospect Heights sibling Cafe Mado. L&L Hawaiian Barbecue on the Lower East Side closed on February 2; the sibling owners attributed the closures to the current business and economic climate and have previously operated a Bushwick location.
