Jets' Jermaine Johnson activated off PUP list, can begin practicing
Briefly

Jermaine Johnson has passed his physical and been activated from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list, returning from an Achilles tendon injury. He will start practicing slowly with an eye on being ready for the season opener on September 7. Coach Aaron Glenn emphasizes Johnson's long-term health. As a first-round pick in 2022, Johnson, eligible for a contract extension, made a notable return last season with multiple impactful stats, and he looks to repay the Jets for their trust in him with a strong performance this season.
"He understands what we're trying to do with him. He's working his [butt] off to get back, but we want to make sure that we have that player for the long haul."
"It's a big investment. They've seen enough of me and heard enough about me that they're willing to dive into that for at least one more year, so it means a lot to me."
