"The former 2022 first-round pick seemed on his way to a fresh start with another team after a disappointing tenure. The Giants sealed his fate last spring by not picking up his fifth-year option. Neal switched from tackle to guard last offseason but was a healthy inactive for nine of the Giants' first 10 games."
"Neal will now audition for new coach John Harbaugh in an attempt to salvage his career by impressing a new staff."
The Giants surprised by re-signing offensive lineman Evan Neal to a one-year minimum contract. Neal, a 2022 first-round pick, did not play an offensive snap last season after the Giants declined his fifth-year option. He switched from tackle to guard but was a healthy inactive for most of the season before being placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Neal will now have the opportunity to audition for new coach John Harbaugh and attempt to salvage his career. Additionally, the Giants re-signed linebacker Zaire Barnes to a one-year deal, while long snapper Casey Kreiter departed to join the Cardinals after five seasons.
