Andrew Cuomo was photographed on election night kissing and grabbing his longtime defense lawyer Rita Glavin amid his mayoral election loss. Photographers from the New York Times and Getty Images captured Cuomo kissing and touching Glavin in a crowded event. Glavin served as Cuomo's principal attorney during multiple sexual harassment allegations between 2020 and 2023 and received $5.68 million in taxpayer funds. Glavin challenged accusers' accounts and sought access to a complainant's gynecological records. Opponent Zohran Mamdani publicly cited the accusations, noted that Charlotte Bennett attended the debate, and criticized Cuomo's use of over $20 million in public funds for his defense.
