Tommy DeVito, formerly of the Giants, was added by New England to backup Maye and second-stringer Joshua Dobbs. But, after being ruled the odd man out of the Giants' crowded quarterback room, he now heads north to Foxborough."

DeVito attended Don Bosco Preparatory High School and played in the Under Armour All-American Game. He began his college career at Syracuse, redshirted, and started in 2019 before transferring to Illinois after losing the starter role following injury. In 2022 he went 8-5 as Illinois starter, completed 69.6 percent of passes for 2,650 yards, and applied for an extra NCAA year that was denied. DeVito started six games for the Giants in 2023, going 3-3 and beating the Patriots 10-7.
