He then forced her to remove her clothes and forcibly raped her, police said."

Police described the suspect as a man with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing glasses, a white T-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and carrying a black backpack. Law enforcement sources said the victim and the suspect were acquaintances, but did not say why they were at the hotel."

The suspect fled on foot heading south on East 222nd Street. EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where she was listed in stable condition. The suspect is described as a dark-complected man last seen in a white T-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, glasses, and carrying a black backpack. Authorities said the victim and suspect were acquaintances and requested tips to the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline. As of Sept. 7, the 47th Precinct had recorded 39 rapes, up from 31 during the same period the prior year, and citywide rapes rose 23.6% with 1,389 reported so far in 2025.
