Trent Grisham's slam sends Yankees to rout of White Sox
Briefly

The New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox 10-2, extending their winning streak to six games. Carlos Rodon allowed one run and seven hits over six innings, walking two and striking out five. Trent Grisham walked, scored early, and delivered a grand slam in the fourth, his seventh homer in 10 games and second grand slam this season. Anthony Volpe had two hits, including a two-run home run and an RBI single, finishing with three RBIs. Yoendrys Gomez issued six walks and surrendered five runs. The Yankees moved a half-game ahead of Boston for the first AL wild card and within three games of division-leading Toronto. Chicago has lost four straight games despite out-hitting New York 12-7.
Rodon, who spent the first seven seasons of his career with the White Sox, held his old team in check in his first appearance at Rate Field since September 2021. Rodon (15-7) yielded one run and seven hits while walking two and striking out five. New York stretched its winning streak to a season-best six games.
Grisham scored the game's first run in the first inning when Ben Rice grounded into a double play. He walked to lead off the game and was later part of a double steal with Aaron Judge, who also walked. Grisham delivered the game's defining hit in the fourth, reaching Chicago starter Yoendrys Gomez for a grand slam. It was Grisham's seventh home run in the past 10 games and his second grand slam this season.
