Subway service changes: Track replacements to seriously impact 4/5/6 lines for two August weekends | amNewYork
Briefly

The MTA announced service suspensions on the 4, 5, and 6 subway lines for track replacement from August 15-18 and August 22-25. Train services will be suspended south of Grand Central-42nd Street. The 4 train will run locally from Woodlawn to Grand Central, while the 5 and 6 trains will only operate on limited routes. To help riders, special weekend W service will be offered, and overnight 42nd Street Shuttle service will continue. Riders are encouraged to use alternative lines for necessary travel during the closures.
Service disruptions will occur on the 4, 5, and 6 trains due to track replacement work over two weekends in August, halting services south of Grand Central.
4 trains will run local between Woodlawn and Grand Central-42 St, while 5 trains will operate only between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th St.
To mitigate the service disruptions, the MTA will introduce special weekend W service, running from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
