"Minimalist this is not, with the designers drawing on the Bowery's history as a music and entertainment district - there's neon signs, mask sculptures and old-school candy dispensers around the reception, and day-to-night lobby cafe and bar The Fix is a real vibey space. There's animal sculptures and jewel-toned furniture in the cafe space, a fluted glass and brass bar to the right of it, and a great atmosphere in both."
"And that's not all as there are four more venues, created in collaboration with Tao Group Hospitality on site; Japanese restaurant Sake No Hana, piano lounge Silver Lining, rooftop bar The Highlight Room, and basement club Loosie's. We stayed at the hotel over a weekend and it was buzzing, with people having a good time in every single space. Design is also at the forefront up in the rooms, with industrial accents, pendant lighting, terrazzo floors in the shower, bulb-lined mirrors and pops of red."
The Lower East Side remains one of New York City's most vibrant neighbourhoods and Moxy Lower East Side combines affordability (rates from $179) with a central location. The design references the Bowery's music and entertainment history with neon signs, mask sculptures, old-school candy dispensers and a day-to-night lobby cafe and bar called The Fix. Four additional venues on site, in collaboration with Tao Group Hospitality, include Sake No Hana, Silver Lining, The Highlight Room and Loosie's, creating constant energy. Guest rooms feature industrial accents, pendant lighting, terrazzo showers, bulb-lined mirrors and space-saving rail systems, sliding cubicle doors and under-bed storage. Storage is compact and may challenge two travellers with many garments, but rooms avoid feeling cramped.
