Residents at Todt Hill Houses, 176 Schmidts Lane, lost water service beginning Friday, Nov. 14. The outage began suddenly without prior notification and was attributed to a broken pipe. An automated message initially indicated repairs would be completed the same night, but water remained off through Sunday, Nov. 16. Residents collected water from faucets hooked to a fire hydrant on LaGuardia Avenue, carrying bottles and buckets to flush toilets and perform basic tasks. A water station at 20 LaGuardia Avenue was made available. Emergency repairs to the broken water line continued and four robocalls were sent to update residents. Assistance options included calling 718-707-7771 or submitting MyNYCHA work tickets.
