Rangers sign defenseman Andrej Sustr to PTO - Blue Seat Blogs
"The Rangers have added defenseman Andrej Sustr to their training camp roster on a professional tryout. For those who remember, Sustr was a highly sought after undrafted free agent in 2013 after the 6'7, 216 lb defenseman finished his junior year at Nebraska-Omaha. Tampa eventually signed him, though the Rangers were interested at the time after he attended development camp in 2011. Though big, Sustr had a relatively muted NHL career."
"He played 361 games, mostly with Tampa before bouncing around the KHL, AHL, and Europe. Sustr's last NHL game was in the 2021-2022 season. It's unlikely the Rangers brought in Andrej Sustr to be an NHL player. At 34 years old, he'd likely be AHL depth and perhaps a desperation injury call up. I just don't see a path for him to make it back to the NHL beyond perhaps a game or two as a spot starter."
