On Black Friday over 1 million visitors went to Manhattan retail hubs while retail centers across Queens, the Bronx, and Brooklyn also saw year-over-year foot-traffic increases. Two-thirds of Times Square visitors on Black Friday 2024 were from outside the city and roughly half were from outside the metro area. Crime declined for eight straight quarters and the city now has the most small businesses in its history. Jobs NYC Hiring Halls drew over 16,000 attendees, producing 5,000 interviews and 2,000 conditional job offers. The NYC Small Business Opportunity Fund awarded over $85 million to 1,000 businesses since 2023, and more than $350 million in financing has been facilitated.
