One Giant Leap

The moon landing was a captivating event that left a lasting impression on the viewer, evoking the belief that the impossible can become possible. The experience was enhanced by a vivid childhood imagination, filled with whimsical thoughts about the moon being made of cheese and populated by extraterrestrial beings. The storyteller, Gary B. Martin, an established illustrator and animator, has spent over three decades in the Upper West Side, contributing illustrations that reflect life in the neighborhood, New York City, and beyond. I remember watching this moon landing with my family on a little black-and-white tv like it was yesterday. It was mesmerizing, and a powerful message to young me that things you thought impossible, were indeed possible.
True, I was hoping the moon actually was made of cheese and had little green men on it, but hey, there's nothing wrong with an active imagination.
