NYC machete attack suspect has 45 prior arrests - and now charged in fatal hit and run involving cancer survivor
""I'm really happy they got him,""
""He just left my mom. It wasn't right. He could've just called 911. He could have tried to help her ... He just ran.""
""I didn't know he was arrested 45 times,""
""How does he keep getting out of jail?""
Timothy Bohler, 31, faces new charges in the March 22, 2024 fatal hit-and-run of 52-year-old Lelawattie Narine, who had recently completed chemotherapy and been declared cancer-free. Bohler was already jailed on Rikers Island after an alleged Jan. 24 machete attack that maimed 34-year-old MTA worker Tayquon Young and included threats against the victim's dog. His criminal history reportedly totals 45 arrests, including a 2016 assault over unpaid beer and an October 2024 arrest on rape, weapons, assault and unlawful surveillance tied to a domestic violence case. While incarcerated he allegedly stole pepper spray from a corrections officer and used it.
