This latest development is part of ongoing construction work on the line, which has already faced significant delays."
"There will be no rush-hour express 7 trains in either direction from Oct. 27 through Nov. 21. The MTA stated that during this period, workers will replace tracks along the line to update train service for riders. While local 7 trains will run more frequently during the weekday morning and afternoon rush hours, some stops will continue to be bypassed due to ongoing construction work. These stops, which trains have been skipping for several months, are Manhattan-bound 52nd Street and 69th Street."
MTA will suspend rush-hour express 7 train service in both directions from Oct. 27 through Nov. 21 to allow workers to replace tracks. Local 7 trains will operate more frequently during weekday morning and afternoon rush hours, but Manhattan-bound 52nd Street and 69th Street stops will continue to be bypassed. The 7 train renovation began in 2022 and has included ADA upgrades, escalator replacements, station renewals and flood protection. Work at 61st Street and 74th Street is behind schedule, with completion pushed to 2026 and the 61st Street escalator replacement delayed to early 2026.
