According to police sources, the 56-year-old victim was dozing on the Harlem-bound 3 train just after 3 a.m. on Dec. 2 as the train pulled into the 34th Street-Penn Station Subway."

A 56-year-old homeless man was dozing on the Harlem-bound 3 train just after 3 a.m. on Dec. 2 when a suspect reportedly stepped aboard and set him on fire as the train pulled into 34th Street-Penn Station. An MTA conductor observed the victim staggering from the car with his lower body engulfed in flames and immediately called 911. EMS transported the man to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center with significant burn injuries. Surveillance footage confirmed that a perpetrator ignited the victim. Police released images and a suspect description and asked the public to submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers or @NYPDTips.
