A man wearing a black mask and bright-red puffer coat approached a 25-year-old passenger on a northbound N train near 86th Street in Gravesend around 2:20 a.m. He demanded the victim's wallet and money; when the victim refused, the attacker slashed him multiple times in the head, face, back and knee. The assailant snatched the wallet and fled through the turnstile on foot. The victim was hospitalized in stable condition at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn. Authorities released surveillance footage and are seeking public tips. Anyone with information is asked to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers or submit tips online.
