A 58-year-old resident of 207 Troy Ave. entered the 77th Precinct in Crown Heights early on Oct. 13 with blood on his hands and said he believed he had killed a man. Police found bloody footprints leading to an apartment where 56-year-old homeless man Kenneth Dantzler was found face up with stab wounds to the chest and arms and pronounced dead. A blood-covered knife and scissors were recovered. Detectives questioned the resident and transferred him to Interfaith Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation. Sources indicated prosecutors will not charge the resident because evidence suggests the killing may have been self-defense. The investigation remains ongoing.
