Mamdani leads big in 4-way NYC mayor race, but Cuomo closes gap in 1-on-1 contest: Poll
"Zohran Mamdani got more good news regarding his lead in the race for New York City mayor, a new poll shows, though one of his rivals does still stand to gain quite a bit of support if one of the others exits the race. The new Marist poll released Tuesday shows Mamdani with a commanding 21-point lead among likely voters when put up against Andrew Cuomo, Curtis Sliwa and Mayor Eric Adams."
"The Democratic nominee scored support from 45% of those polled, compared to 24% for Cuomo. Sliwa, the Republican nominee in the race, earned 17%; Adams got the support from 9% of those polled, and 5% were still undecided. Mamdani received a majority of his support from Democrats, according to the Marist poll, as 58% said they would vote for him."
"For Republicans, Sliwa also earned more than half of the vote from members of his own party, but notably received the support of 31% of non-enrolled voters - the highest among any of the candidates, according to the poll. That just edged out Cuomo (30%) and far exceeded Mamdani's polling with unaffiliated voters (20%). Of those unaffiliated voters, one in ten said they were still undecided."
Zohran Mamdani leads the New York City mayoral contest with 45% support, holding a 21-point advantage over Andrew Cuomo at 24%. Curtis Sliwa stands at 17%, Eric Adams at 9%, and 5% remain undecided. Mamdani draws 58% of Democratic voters while Cuomo receives 23% of Democrats. Sliwa secures over half of Republican voters and tops non-enrolled voters with 31%, compared with Cuomo's 30% and Mamdani's 20% among unaffiliated voters. If Adams exits, Cuomo rises to 30% while Mamdani remains steady; in a two-way, Mamdani leads 49% to Cuomo's 39%. Cuomo's unfavorability is 59% versus Mamdani's 40%.
