She was killed in a hit-and-run incident in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn on January 16. Around 6:50 a.m., she was crossing the street and was struck by two vehicles, a black SUV and a black and gray sedan. Police stated, "The operators of the vehicles did not remain on scene." She was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
