"The committees, comprising leaders from government, labor, nonprofits, academia, and business, will advise on policy development, implementation, and best practices for agencies, according to the transition team. The scale of the appointments coincides with what Mamdani described as a "once-in-a-generation" opportunity to rebuild public trust and deliver for working-class New Yorkers, announcing that 70,000 people have submitted applications to work in the new administration through an open portal, with an average applicant age of 28."
