Firefighter Patrick Brady, 42, a 11-year FDNY veteran, suffered a medical episode while operating on a Brooklyn roof and was transported to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he later died. Officials said he suffered a heart attack while responding to the blaze. Brady joined the FDNY in 2014 after graduating from the Fire Academy, served at Engine 227 and transferred to Ladder 120 in 2022. The department held a bunting ceremony to honor his life. He is survived by his wife, Kara, two brothers who are FDNY firefighters, and other relatives in the department. Funeral arrangements are pending.
