"Queens accounted for by far the largest share of complaints, with 7,015 requests during the period, or about 45% of the citywide total. Brooklyn had 2,881 complaints, followed by Staten Island with 1,944, Manhattan with 1,906 and the Bronx with 1,712."

New York City is launching a five-borough pothole repair blitz on Saturday with more than 80 Department of Transportation crews beginning work at 6 a.m. The initiative follows a sharp increase in pothole complaints, with 15,535 service requests filed from January 1 through March 12, compared to 9,182 during the same period last year. Queens reported the most complaints at 7,015, followed by Brooklyn, Staten Island, Manhattan, and the Bronx. City officials report DOT crews have already repaired over 50,000 potholes since January 1, with an average response time of just over two days. Additional repair blitzes are planned for coming weeks.
