The crash occurred around 1:10 a.m. near Ashland Place and Willoughby Street in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. An ambulance headed north struck a southbound e-bike driven by 65-year-old Ray Wilkerson Lynwood. Lynwood was transported to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and pronounced dead. The ambulance was responding to a call and was searching for a man in distress at the time of the collision. The NYU Langone ambulance driver and two crew members were taken to the hospital; an NYU Langone representative said no one on the crew sustained any injuries. The NYPD investigation into the crash is ongoing.
