"Police say two men have been charged with trespassing and one with possession of burglary tools after breaking into a manhole in Dyker Heights Wednesday evening, the second break-in on that street in as many months. Frightened neighbors saw the two men enter the manhole around 10:40 p.m. and called officers, who arrived and waited until the men emerged at around 2:30 a.m. to arrest them."
"Wilmur Rodriguez Carrasquel, 42, faces criminal trespassing charges, while the man seen next to him, 26-year-old Robinson Daviel, faces trespassing charges and possession of burglary tools. Police could not confirm if either of the men arrested was the same one who was seen breaking into the same cover back in December. Neighbors say they do feel safer, but want to know what the two could have been doing in the tunnels for hours on end."
Two men entered a manhole in Dyker Heights Wednesday evening and remained in the sewer tunnels for several hours before officers arrested them early Thursday. One suspect, Wilmur Rodriguez Carrasquel, 42, was charged with criminal trespassing. The other, 26-year-old Robinson Daviel, was charged with trespassing and possession of burglary tools. Neighbors reported seeing the men enter around 10:40 p.m. and officers waited until about 2:30 a.m. to take them into custody. Police have not confirmed if either man was involved in a similar December break-in. The Department of Environmental Protection said crews would inspect for equipment damage.
