"Five out of six members of the local advisory committee voted in favor to approve Bally's Bronx at Ferry Point Park, the site of a golf course once operated by the Trump Organization. If the project is awarded a casino license, Bally's Bronx would have to pay $115 million to the Trump Organization as part of an agreement the two groups made in 2023. That is on top of the $60 million that Bally's already paid to buy the rights to operate at the location."
"Another community advisory committee will vote on The Coney this afternoon, a proposed casino project eyed on the Coney Island boardwalk. On Sept. 22, a community advisory committee rejected a proposed casino on the East Side of Manhattan near the United Nations. It's the third casino proposal to be rejected in Manhattan. A Caesars Palace casino in Times Square and The Avenir on 41st Street have also been turn down."
Five of six local advisory committee members approved Bally's Bronx at Ferry Point Park, a site formerly home to a golf course operated by the Trump Organization. Bally's would pay $115 million to the Trump Organization if awarded a casino license, in addition to $60 million already paid for operating rights. The $4 billion development would include a resort on 16 acres near the Whitestone Bridge. A separate committee will vote on The Coney at the Coney Island boardwalk. Several Manhattan proposals were rejected, including bids near the United Nations, Times Square, and 41st Street. Metropolitan Park at Citi Field faces a Tuesday vote.
