Queens will host a Holocaust Memorial on the southeast lawn in front of Borough Hall at 120-55 Queens Blvd to honor the 6 million Jews murdered by Nazi Germany. The memorial will also pay tribute to survivors and families and serve as an educational site about the Holocaust and the consequences of antisemitism. City and state officials took part in a ceremonial groundbreaking on Nov. 25. Funding commitments include $2 million from Mayor Eric Adams and $1 million from Borough President Donovan Richards, with additional allocations announced and further funding still to be sourced. The memorial was initiated by Michael Nussbaum and Queens Jewish community leaders.
