At least one killed after two men jump into NYC waters in separate incidents

Two men jumped into the East River in separate incidents on Saturday. The first man fell from the Williamsburg Bridge around 8:30 a.m. He was rescued by the FDNY and taken to a hospital, but later died. A second man, wearing clothing and a backpack, leaped into the river from a Randall's Island ferry landing at about 12:20 p.m. Authorities initiated searches with NYPD aviation and scuba units for the second man, but he was not found immediately.
At around 8:30 a.m., the first man plummeted from the Williamsburg Bridge into the East River and was later brought to New York Presbyterian Hospital but could not be saved.
Witnesses reported seeing a second man, fully clothed with a backpack, jumping into the East River from a Randall's Island ferry landing around 12:20 p.m.
NYPD aviation and scuba units conducted search operations in the water for the second man, but he was not immediately recovered.
