Manhattan prosecutors indicted Ingrid Lewis-Martin on four counts of bribery, alleging she used her influence to benefit landlords and developers in exchange for bribes and gifts. Lewis-Martin allegedly helped property owner Tian Ji Li secure city leases to house asylum seekers despite a city employee labeling a site "problematic," and expedited Fire Department and Department of Buildings approvals for a Queens karaoke club. Prosecutors say Li paid Lewis-Martin's son $50,000 and hosted lavish parties. Lewis-Martin also reportedly intervened to advance developer Yechiel Landau's Red Hook affordable housing project and accepted renovations at her house and another official's home.
