Lunar New Year celebrations in New York City continue after officially beginning on Tuesday, February 17, with community events running through the month and culminating in Chinatown's Lunar New Year Parade on March 1. A rooftop party, LES After Dark: Year of the Horse, takes place Saturday, February 21 from 8pm to 11pm at UNLISTED atop the UNTITLED Hotel, featuring DJ Ezzek, Year of the Horse cocktails, and Water Magic Fortune Telling. The China Institute hosts a family-focused, day-long celebration on February 21 with a lion dance, a performance by Echos of China Ensemble, experiential stations, and workshops on fan making, lantern riddles, Yuan Bao Tea, and more. Short films by Asian American and Asian filmmakers are also being spotlighted during the season.
